Meet Finley

I have talked a bit about wanting to create a family and have a baby asap. I am beyond excited to extended our little family and take the next step. Recently, we decided to make a very grown up decision and take on a new responsibility in life. We decided to extend our family and take a baby step. Matt and I adopted a puppy.

Meet Finley - a german shepherd/lab mix that we got at about 8 weeks old. She is the love of our lives.

This is a big step for us. A puppy is a lot of work with training and keeping clean, all that stuff. We have to come home all the time to take care of her. We have lost a bit of our young freedom but have gained so much more. Plus, we are really lucky to be living with my Dad and brother who help with the responsibility.

We have had Finley for about a month and it has been a lot of work. We are still working on house training, there are still a couple accidents every once in awhile. She has really only learned to sit so far but I almost got her to shake last night. What is the best thing about Finley, how much she already loves us. It started from day 1 - I am her Mom and Matt is her Dad. She cuddles with us, loves when we let her sleep with us, cowers between our legs when she is scared. What is more amazing is how much we both love her. Finley is our little baby right now and will be forever apart of our family. She is going to share in so many of our moments as Matt and I grow together and create a bigger family.

There is a lot to talk about with Finley. From training to her breed questions, all the amazing things out there for a dog, watching her grown and develop...but for now here is some puppy pictures to drool over (she is my dog, I do think she is the cutest thing in the whole wide world)

First day she came home - Finley was 6 lbs - so tiny!

She loves to chew (not good) and play with that weird piece of the vaccuum

Finley will give you this look when you talk to her, she lifts her ears & turns her head to say "What?"
